Traditional Methods are Failing...

 Stress is being reported to affect record numbers of people.  

This year,  Stress in America Survey 2022 found in America:

  • 65% are stressed due to money
  • 70% of parents are stressed about their kids future
  • 58% experienced an undesired weight gain
  • 25% admitted to drinking more doses of alcohol

Stress can play a part in overall.  Stress has been lined to health related  health problems:

Headaches, insomnia, high blood pressure, heart problems, diabetes, skin conditions, asthma, arthritis, depression,  anxiety and is being investigated for it's link to autoimmune health related crisis.

If you have managed, but it is too much right now...

Everyone experiences stress, but it can be overwhelming to know how  to manage it.  When major life stressors come up, it may feel like a life shattering event.  It’s important to have  strategies to cope and relax. The top five most stressful life events  include:

  • Death of a loved one
  • Divorce
  • Moving
  • Major illness or injury
  • Job loss


Unpacking How We Respond to Stress

Stress is a natural part of our lives, but high stress is of concern.   Stress has been linked to health related  health problems:

  • feel as though you have everything you need within you
  • are seeking assistance, support and encouragement. 
  • open to new solutions and ideas.
  •  are ready to take personal responsibility
  •  are ready to try something new

From Global Workplace 2021 Report:

Workers' daily stress reached a record high in 2020, according to the Global Workplace 2021 Report.

  • 43% of respondents in over 100 countries report high stress
  • Workplace, Family, Political and Financial Lead as causes.
  • According to the report, workers in the US and Canada recorded the highest levels of daily stress globally, at 57%.


A coach or practitioner may be a good starting point if you are wanting to start this journey toward a better life, and don't want to waste any time along the way!

free exercise this month - Core belief Dart board

  1. Start by identifying an unhelpful or hurtful self-criticism that you or your client would like to defuse, for instance, “I’m an uncaring partner”. It may be hard to articulate at first, but try shortening it into a sentence that really gets to the heart of the issue.
  2. Let yourself engage with and truly relate to the thought you’ve identified. It might help if you verbalize the sentence you’ve landed on or repeat it mentally.
  3. Then, replay the thought but precede it with “I’m having the thought that…”, so your sentence will become “I’m having the thought that I’m an uncaring partner”.
  4. To further defuse this thought, we take another mental step back. This time precede the painful thought with “I notice I’m having the thought that...”; so, “I notice I’m having the thought that I’m an uncaring partner”.
  5. Give yourself a chance to reflect on the mental shift which likely occurred, or at least started to take place. 
  6. How would you describe the experience as you moved from ‘fusion with’ to ‘diffusion from’ the thought?
  7. Now take a moment to explore this thought with the core beliefs Dartboard Exercise
  8. Notice what is important for you.
